This past week consisted of starting on my original work, specifically the research part.

The first step in my project is doing all the research necessary to start. The research is divided up into multiple parts - research about mica in the industry, then the chemical compositions of the cosmetic products, and lastly how to go about a business plan in the cosmetics industry. The research is the most important step in the entire process, as it acts as a foundation for everything to follow. Therefore, I want to make sure to spend my time as much as needed on this part to ensure I have solid research.

This past week, I started my research on mica and how it is used in the industry. I explored its dangers and the effects it has on the children in these rural villages through watching documentaries and reading articles. I want to finish this portion this next week and begin looking into the chemical compositions as my next step.

Additionally, after finishing up my research, I want to reach out to my mentor to schedule a meeting to present the research I have so far. I mentioned the original work and my idea, but did not go too much into detail, so this would be the time for that in our next meeting.

Overall, I am excited for the work I have to continue to do in order to make this idea successful. I have noted down what work comes next week and what steps I need to take, so until then, see you soon!
