Power Outages.. Yikes

This past week was definitely a handful. Not only did it snow for the first time in a VERY long time in Texas, but accompanied with that was also the power outages. Due to the power outages, I couldn't get nearly as much work done, not to mention all classes were canceled as well. However, I did still want to update this blog and track my progress, as I did do a little more research pertaining to my original work.

This week I read a lot more into what it takes for a cosmetics business to start up, especially by a teenager - this included the foundation paperwork, basic funding needed, marketing, etc. There is obviously a lot of steps involved into making a business come about, even with a simple business model. I've been reading articles and doing more research, so hopefully I will be able to formulate a nice plan.

Additionally, I was talking to my dad about my original work idea and talking through some of my ideas for the entire plan. We had a very informational conversation, and some things he said might've influenced my original decisions about this project. For example, instead of following an existing business model (such as non-profit, for-profit, eCommerce, etc), he suggested I create a hybrid model myself. This incorporates multiple aspects of previously existing models, and is unique to the market in ways no other business is, because it is originally created by you. This may be a bit of a challenge for me, seeing as I'd have to work around a lot of paperwork for this if I were to actually implement it, but it is a very unique idea as well. Overall, I'm feeling excited but also a little overwhelmed with how much work I have to do in such little time. But until next time, see you!
