I am really happy to say that this past week has consisted of a LOT of progress. We had ISM presentations on a topic of our choice, I did a lot of original work, and I had a very productive mentor meeting.
About the ISM presentations, it was supposed to be 5 minutes over any topic we wanted to talk about at all. Lots of people in my breakout room had very funny topics, and I chose to do it on "5 Things That Women Are Really Saying When Talking To Men." I can definitely say confidently that my presentational speaking has been getting better - I am speaking more confidently, my usage of visuals are more effective, and I am able to slow down and not let nerves get in the way. Overall, this day was very successful and I am happy that it went very well. (but Mr. Pirtle if you're reading this, don't take this as a hint to give out more presentation days; I am NOT asking to give more speeches) :)
About my original work progress, I finished all the items on my action plan that I last discussed with Mr. Pirtle - I established the basic name, logo, brand aesthetics, etc. Overall I have about 13 total hours of original work. What comes next involved the more analytical side of things - how to manage my fundings, SWOT analysis, obstacles, etc. This will require me to probably write up a lot of reports, so that will be my main goal for the next few weeks.
My mentor meeting on 2/13 with Mrs. Varma also went really well. I started out by updating her with all the progress I've made so far, and we went over what I would need to do next before our next meeting. Additionally, we talked about what I would do if I actually wanted to implement this business idea in the future. We talked about some extra books to read for good advice, and even shared stories and had a good laugh. The meeting went on for about 2 hours, and overall was really effective. Overall, I am feeling really confident and excited for what's to come in both my original work and mentorship as well. Until next time, see you soon! :)
